Meditation is for everyone, but not everyone sees this to begin with. Women are more likely to recognise and undertake meditation more readily than men. Unfortunately men see a stigma around meditation believing it to be feminine. It is not like exercise or weight training, and a lot of men like to see some kind of physical activity so that what they are doing seems somewhat manly and masculine.

Meditation looks like you are doing absolutely nothing as you are static, you are not moving and you are not exerting any physical energy. It does not appear manly. This is unfortunate if anyone decides to dismiss meditation based on these feelings.

Not only are there specialise meditations out there that may incorporate elements of physical movement, vocal noise, or dance into the routine, but there are real benefits to be gained by meditation. It should also be pointed out that while Western cultures may not so readily see and appreciate the benefits of meditations, it is embraced by many other cultures across the world by men and women alike because the recognise and appreciate the benefits of meditation.

Meditation is about what goes on on the inside. If you are feeling stressed, anxious, depressed, angry and any other emotional state that makes you feel off balance, then meditation is one of those things that you might like to seriously consider trying in order to help alleviate you of that stress and tension. Meditation teaches you how to pay attention and focus, and can help bring more balance and stability to your thoughts, feelings and emotions in your day to day life.
